About This Spot

La Strambata is the kind of intimate cocktail bar where time seems to pause just enough for you to breathe in the salt air and watch the light play over the pebble beach. Nestled in the heart of Genova’s Piazza Nettuno, this spot hums with the gentle rhythms of seaside life—a relaxed ebb and flow where locals and visitors alike settle into the moment, whether lingering over a late afternoon spritz or sharing a quiet breakfast by the water.

As you arrive, there's an inviting ease in the atmosphere. The pace is unhurried, shaped by the soft murmur of conversation and the occasional clink of glasses. Wooden chairs face the shimmering waves, offering a front-row seat to the sunset’s gradual dance of warm colors. It’s a place where the salt-laced breeze tangles in your hair, and the world slows enough for you to notice the small, everyday rituals that feel quietly precious.

The drinks and bites here never demand attention but rather unfold like familiar friends—an Aperol Spritz catching the light like a small celebration, the rich aroma of coffee drawing you in during a morning visit, or delicate snacks that complement the unspoken poetry of the place. Whether you’re savoring a frothy cappuccino alongside buttery pastries or unwinding with a well-crafted mojito, the experience feels genuine and unforced.

What makes La Strambata remarkable is the way it balances the intimate with the communal. There’s a warmth in the service, a friendliness that feels natural rather than rehearsed, as if the bartenders and waiters are curators of moments just as much as drinks. Despite its modest size, the bar seems to hold a quiet promise: here, you can witness the mosaic of local life, from the bustling piazza to the pebbled shore, all through the lens of simple pleasures.

For anyone seeking a pause from the city’s rush, La Strambata offers a gentle refuge. It’s not merely a place to sip or snack, but a quietly joyful discovery—a rare and tender dialogue between sea, sky, and the soft hum of human connection.

I don’t remember how I got to La Strambata. One moment I was wandering the pastel labyrinth of Boccadasse, salt wind curling my hair into confusion; the next, I was seated at a table facing the sea, a plate of something divine shimmering before me like a vision. The sun was setting in slow motion, spilling Aperol colors into the waves. A waiter — or perhaps a poet disguised as one — placed a spritz in my hand and said something in Italian that I’m pretty sure was a blessing. The world tilted pleasantly. Laughter bubbled from somewhere nearby, maybe from me. I ordered… I think it was cappuccino. I enjoyed it in peace - A dog barked, a Vespa whined, and for a brief, golden moment, I was convinced I’d never have to go home.

Great restaurant on a really special place! This small but really beautiful beach IS close to Génova, colorful houses, small beach and plenty of restaurants. They have some plates to eat and some drinks, really good Spritz. It has some tables on The beach. The personal and service was great! Looking forward to go back! Thanks!

We took the train to this lovely secluded location. La Strambata is situated by a lovely pebble beach. We had two coffee's, a couple of croissants and some bread. It was a delightful breakfast, the coffee was smooth and both the bread and the croissants were light and tasty and the prices reasonable. What a great find!

Lovely experience at this bar. Nice and strong Aperol spritz with some snacks. Personal is really friendly. Just a bit crowded at the evenings

We took a bus out to here from the bus terminus at Station Brignole. The #31 took about 15 mins. The bar faces the small pebble beach but a great spot to sit on the wooden chairs and watch the world go by. 40cl beers on tap were about €6 and wines were similarly priced. Could also by drinks to takeaway.

We stopped here just for a drink, but decided to stay for some food and the dessert. Had focaccia and farinata, both tasty! The real star for us was tiramisu al pistachio, was the best one we had in Genova so far. The lady working there was kind and helpful. Location of this place is just perfect
